JOB OVERVIEW
The Solution Architect is responsible for defining, designing, and guiding the implementation of technical architectures that support organizational operations and strategic objectives. This role reports to the IT Director and collaborates closely with cross‑functional teams, including Corporate IT, Quality Assurance, and Laboratory Operations. The position contributes to both local and global initiatives, ensuring that software solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure, and aligned with business needs. The Solution Architect also plays a key role in driving innovation, evaluating emerging technologies, and providing technical leadership across the development team.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Define and maintain the technical architecture for software systems, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, industry standards, and long‑term sustainability.
Perform gap analyses to evaluate differences between business requirements and existing software capabilities, recommending appropriate solutions or enhancements.
Participate in project scoping, estimation and planning activities, providing architectural guidance and technical feasibility assessments.
Lead the evaluation, including cost/benefit analysis, selection, and adoption of new technologies, tools, and frameworks that enhance development efficiency, system performance, and overall solution quality.
Identify architectural risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure system reliability and compliance.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate functional requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable architectural designs.
Develop and maintain architectural documentation, including system diagrams, integration models, and technical standards.
Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and coaching to software engineers, promoting best practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Review solution designs and implementation approaches to ensure adherence to architectural principles and organizational guidelines.
Monitor system performance and reliability, recommending upgrades, optimizations, and modernization strategies for existing applications and infrastructure.
Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, proactively identifying opportunities for innovation within the development team.
Create prototypes or proofofconcepts to validate solution approaches.
* This position must be filled from within the Eurofins US Food & Feed Testing organization, and requires the following:
Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field; or Associate’s degree plus 2 years of additional relevant professional experience.
Minimum 8 years of professional experience working with enterprise software solutions, platforms and databases.
Experience in solution architecture, systems design, or technical leadership roles is preferred.
Strong organizational and advanced technical problem‑solving abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating leadership, initiative, and adaptability.
Capacity to manage multiple tasks, maintain accurate records, and follow established procedures and policies.
Ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including non‑technical stakeholders.
Effectively presents innovative concepts and secures cross‑functional buy‑in by translating complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives that inspire action.
Skilled at change management
Expertise in C#, .NET, and SQL Server.
Full-stack development experience including front-end, back-end, data layer and integration technologies.
Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
Deep understanding of Object‑Oriented Programming principles, architectural patterns, API design, microservices and system integration concepts.
Knowledgeable on database design, optimization, and performance tuning.
Expertise on software development lifecycle.
Knowledge of DevOps pipelines, Gitbased workflows, and automated testing frameworks.
