Summary Job Description: Phlebotomist Part Time, First Shift - 3am-11:30am – Rotating Weekends & Call
The Phlebotomist performs the collection of blood and body specimens from hospital inpatients and outpatients and transports patient specimens to the laboratory. Job Duties:
• Performs venipuncture and capillary collections and performs point of care testing.
• Collects appropriate specimen for each test.
• Follows all patient safety and specimen collection protocols without variance.
• Properly transports collected specimens to the lab via tube system or hand carry and follows infection control protocols.
• Consistently follows hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements:
• High School Diploma/GED
Preferred Requirements:
• Completion of Phlebotomy training program or ASCP Certification
