About this role
Eurofins PSS is seeking a highly motivated scientist to support the client molecular biology & protein production workflows: DNA construct design/assembly, PCR, sample preparation for sequencing, DNA production & quantitation, mammalian cell culture & transfections, protein purification & quantitation, and automated liquid handling. The candidate will work directly on a client site contributing to consistently delivering hundreds of protein samples per week to client research teams. The candidate will be responsible for generating DNA constructs and performing high-throughput processes for macromolecule production (DNA, RNA, and protein). The candidate will also be responsible for updating the laboratory database and relaying data in organized presentations to project teams.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
DNA plasmid design & cloning.Automated high throughput DNA purificationHigh throughput molecular biology operations, including PCR setup, ligation reactions, DNA purification using liquid handling automation.DNA & RNA quantitation & QCSupporting transient mammalian transfections with DNAOrganization and storage of DNA fragments/plasmids, including tracking using Genedata Biologics Software, as well as record keeping using electronic laboratory notebooks.Nanopore sequencing: sample preparation, system operation, & data analysisClose interaction with project teamsRegular review of literature to maintain knowledge of scientific trends and industry processes, advance molecular biology and protein production methods. B.S. molecular biology or related field with 0-2 years of relevant laboratory experienceTrack record of high-quality execution of standard laboratory operating proceduresTrack record of strong problem solving and organizational skills, orientation to detailDemonstrated technical proficiency in molecular biology: DNA/mRNA preparation and analysis, PCR, molecular cloning, construct design, sequence analysis.Ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, work under strict deadlines, and remain flexible with changing needs.Ability to work effectively to solve process development problems and implement improved procedures.Strong written and oral communication skillsStrong computer skillsExperience with automation is a plus What to Expect in the Hiring Process:
