About this role
Subsea Well intervention Engineer
Would you like the opportunity to develop innovative subsea well intervention solutions that maximize offshore asset value? Are you passionate about delivering technically robust and commercially effective intervention strategies across the offshore lifecycle?
Join our Oilfield Services Team At Baker Hughes, we are transforming the future of energy through innovative technologies and services. Our Oilfield Services business provides integrated solutions that improve performance, enhance efficiency, and maximize asset value throughout the lifecycle of offshore operations. We partner with customers to solve complex challenges across drilling, production, intervention, and decommissioning activities.
Fuel your passion As a Subsea Well Intervention Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting framing of subsea intervention, subsea well access, riser-based or riserless intervention, light well intervention, P&A, tree and wellhead access, subsea tooling, ROV support, vessel spread requirements, and offshore lifecycle opportunities. The Subsea Well Intervention Engineer is expected to help organize technical interfaces and constraints so senior specialists can make informed decisions. Product-level depth is preferred but not mandatory; the emphasis is on understanding what data is needed, which disciplines must contribute during design, and how subsea execution realities influence the value case.
As a Subsea Well Intervention Engineer, you will be:
• Subsea intervention support: Assist in defining subsea access and intervention concepts, including riserless or riser-based approaches, light well intervention, P&A support, and inspection or maintenance scopes.
• Interface assessment: Compile technical inputs on tree and wellhead access, subsea tooling, ROV support, vessel requirements, equipment interfaces, and operating envelope constraints.
• Feasibility input: Support assessment of water depth, metocean conditions, vessel availability, access constraints, regulatory requirements and offshore execution risks.
• Cost and schedule assumptions: Prepare input assumptions for vessel spread, equipment mobilization, tooling needs, intervention duration, and key cost drivers.
• Integration: Work with wells, production, facilities, and commercial specialists to support an integrated techno-economic approach for mature offshore and decommissioning opportunities.
To be successful in this role you will:
• Have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Petroleum, Subsea, Marine, Offshore Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Have significant experience in subsea well intervention, well access, offshore operations, P&A, or subsea lifecycle activities.
• Have strong knowledge of subsea trees, wellheads, intervention systems, tooling interfaces, ROV operations, and offshore vessel operations.
• Have experience supporting offshore projects from concept development and planning through execution and post-job evaluation.
• Have the ability to assess and communicate techno-economic benefits of intervention solutions to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Have a strong understanding of offshore HSE requirements, regulatory compliance, logistics planning, and operational risk management.
• Have experience working effectively across multidisciplinary engineering and operational teams.
