About this role
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Lifecycle Asset Management
• Create/maintain authoritative records in CMDB/asset tools (ownership, location, status, config, warranty, costs).
• Execute MACD: additions, migrations, swaps, RMAs, and decommissions; coordinate on‑site remote hands.
• Validate demand, place orders (per client process), and track shipment → delivery → acceptance.
• Manage spares/VMI programs; define min/max, reorder points, and placement strategy.
Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination
• Act as the initial point of contact for vendor queries on shipments, access, and documentation.
• Schedule remote‑hands, ERAD/ITAD pickups, and de‑installs; verify certificates of destruction/recycling where required.
• Partner with SCM/Planning to onboard new SKUs/BOMs and maintain catalogs; collaborate with DC Ops/NetEng on capacity plans.
• Run vendor QBRs and track SLAs/OLAs.
Data Integrity & Controls
• Reconcile portals, DCIM, and asset tools; investigate root causes for deltas; correct at source.
• Perform cycle counts and audits; maintain evidence for SOX/ISO/client controls.
• Build dashboards and weekly reports (stock levels, shrinkage, aging RMA, lead times, site health).
Process Improvement & Automation
• Document SOPs/runbooks; remove waste using Lean/5S; pilot barcoding/scan workflows and integrations (e.g., ITSM↔CMDB↔DCIM).
• Drive standardization across regions; contribute to tooling requirements and UAT.
Key Deliverables & KPIs Targets are representative; actual goals vary by client/site. Emphasis on trend, SLA adherence, quality, safety, and compliance.
• Data accuracy ≥ 99.3%; audit results no major findings; corrective actions closed ≤ 30 days.
• Lead quarterly physical audit/cycle‑count program with overall variance ≤ 0.5%.
• Reduce provisioning/acceptance lead time by ≥ 10% vs. baseline; CSAT from partners ≥ 4.6/5.
• Own a project milestone (e.g., regional decomm, SKU refresh, DC migration) on time/on budget.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Information Systems, Engineering, or comparable experience.
• 3–5 years; audit/project experience; cross‑functional leadership; vendor coordination.
• Preferred Certifications: ITIL® Foundation, CompTIA Server+/Network+, Lean Six Sigma (Yellow/Green), CSCA/CSCP, DC/colocation safety.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge
• IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Configuration Management (CMDB) fundamentals; relationships among CIs for laptops, phones, and peripherals.
• Supply chain/logistics basics (INCOTERMS, export docs, customs considerations), spares/VMI management, and RMA workflows.
• Controls/compliance (SOX, ISO 27001/19770 concepts), data privacy, and NIST 800‑88‑aligned media handling per client policy.
Skills
• High‑precision data entry and reconciliation; proficiency with spreadsheets (lookups, pivots) and dashboarding.
• Use of asset tools (e.g., ServiceNow/CMDB, Oomnitza, Asset Panda), DCIM/portal systems, and barcode scanners.
• Vendor communications and coordination across time zones; ticket/queue management.
• Root‑cause analysis and documentation of SOPs/runbooks.
• Experience using AI tools to accelerate reconciliation, anomaly detection, or asset data analysis (e.g., Copilot in Excel, AI-assisted CMDB querying, or similar).
Abilities
• Prioritize multiple workstreams; meet deadlines amid changing demands.
• Communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical stakeholders; influence decisions with data.
• Maintain meticulous chain of custody and safety/ESD practices.
Tools & Systems
• ITSM/CMDB: ServiceNow, Jira/Insight.
• DCIM/Portals: Device42, NetBox, vendor portals, colo site portals.
• Logistics: ERP (SAP/Oracle), carrier portals, RMA portals, Zebra/RFID scanners.
• Reporting: Google Sheets/Excel (pivots/XLOOKUP), basic SQL/BI.
Career Path & Progression
• Asset Management Track (Grade 1 → 4) with increasing ownership of data quality, operations, audits, vendors, and strategy.
• Lateral/next steps may include Data Center Operations, Supply Chain/Planning, Network Deployment, Tooling/Automation (CMDB/DCIM), or People Leadership.
