The Opportunity
As a Hedging Strategy Senior Analyst, you’ll play a key role in supporting strong financial performance across our customer and generation portfolios. You’ll support our journey towards An Electric Britain by delivering insight that strengthens trading decisions, improves risk management and helps us optimise portfolio outcomes.
You’ll join us on a salary starting of £56,400 per annum, working one day each week in our #London office to collaborate with trading, finance and commercial colleagues. The rest of your time can be spent working from home or in the office, giving you the flexibility to perform at your best.
This role gives you the chance to grow your wholesale market knowledge while working at pace in a commercial environment. You will provide commercially grounded analysis that informs how we hedge customer demand and generation exposure, balancing risk appetite, market opportunity and portfolio objectives. Your insight will directly influence trading decisions, risk management outcomes and financial performance.
You will work closely with trading, forecasting, finance and commercial teams, translating complex data into clear recommendations that support decision-making at pace
Who You Are
We’re looking for someone who combines strong analytical capability with commercial instinct.
You will be comfortable working in a complex, data-rich environment, but you won’t stop at analysis, you will interpret, challenge and translate insight into practical commercial action.

Strong analytical capability with the ability to connect data to financial outcomesCommercial awareness and understanding of margin, risk and portfolio performanceAbility to interpret complex data and communicate clear recommendationsConfidence presenting to stakeholders at different levelsStrong collaboration skills across trading and commercial functionsExperience in a commercial, trading, portfolio or analytical environment, preferably energy hedgingAbility to present compelling business cases and influence decision‑makingExperience working with advanced data tools and coding languages (SQL, Python, Power BI)Degree in a numerate discipline or equivalent commercial analytical experienceWhat You’ll Be Doing
Developing and implementing hedging strategies for customer portfolios and generation assetsManaging positions and supporting the trading desk Identifying opportunities to deliver improved commercial outcomes across portfoliosProducing reporting that explains exposures, hedging performance and financial outcomesPresenting insight to senior stakeholders to support commercial decision makingContributing to the continuous improvement of hedging procedures, tooling & reportingPay, Benefits and Culture
