Job Purpose & Description: The Fabrication Technician is responsible for receiving, inspecting, and preparing materials for fabrication operations. This role performs a variety of fabrication, assembly, inspection, and packaging activities to ensure products meet customer specifications, quality standards, and production requirements. The position supports efficient manufacturing processes through adherence to safety, quality, and Lean Manufacturing principles. The hours for this position will be Monday-Friday 5am-1pm in the summer time.
Key Responsibilities:
• Fabricate fittings and components to customer specifications using customized fabrication equipment, hand tools, power tools, adhesives, and fixtures.
• Retrieve required components from stock or production areas to support fabrication and assembly operations.
• Set up and prepare equipment in accordance with job requirements and production specifications.
• Perform a minimum of five (5) assigned fabrication or production operations as required.
• Inspect completed parts to ensure conformance with quality and specification standards.
• Visually inspect all incoming pipe, gaskets, and materials for defects or damage.
• Prepare finished parts for shipment by boxing, palletizing, and securing products appropriately.
• Accurately label all parts, containers, and pallets in accordance with company and customer requirements.
• Complete all required production, quality, labor, and inventory control reports accurately and on time.
• Maintain records for man-hours, inventory usage, and production output as required.
• Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, in a safe and certified manner.
• Apply and support 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
• Work collaboratively as a team member to support operational goals, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• The role may include performing work in, but not limited to, the following operations: Ring Saw, Belling Equipment, Butt Fusion (Manual and Semi-Automatic), Angle Saws, Branch Flanging Machine, Cap Cut-Off Saw, External Sanding Machine, Internal Sanding Machine, Routing (End and Branch Hole), Cleaning, Fitting Assembly, Washing, Recycle Grinding, Shipping, Quality Confirmation.
Job Requirements: Education & Certificates:
• High School Diploma or equivalent, required
• Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain forklift certification
Technical Skills & Experience:
• Proficient in the use of basic inspection tools and gauges, including:
• Measuring tape
• Micrometer
• Pipe checking tools
• Basic computer or reporting skills sufficient to complete production and inventory documentation.

Working Conditions
• Employee may be exposed to a Considerable level of hazards in the work environment, such as chemicals, commercial products, exposure to potential toxins, moving machinery, repetitive motion, excessive noise, powered industrial vehicle fork/reach/ bucket lift/other.
• May on occasion be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels.
• Employee may be required to perform a Considerable level of specific tasks, such as lifting up to 70lbs, muscular action, body movements, working positions, posture changes, visual attentiveness.
• Employee will be required to wear protective eyewear, laboratory coat, appropriate gloves, hearing protection, respiratory protection, safety shoes, hard hate, and/or other.
• Employee may experience progressive degrees of changing factors in the work process (changing work priorities, deadlines, accuracy, quotas, conflicting demands).
