About this role
Seeking a highly motivated professional to join the highly potent compounds (HPC) drug product development team located at Irvine, CA. This individual will play a key role in advancing the company’s early HPC pipeline with significant technical complexity. Reporting to the Center Director of Biologics Drug Product Development, the individual will be a key driver of scientific strategy around new biologics and innovative formulations with a special emphasis on HPC. The incumbent will take an important role in assuring BioDPDs compliance with SAT regulations.
Responsibilities:
Develops and achieves discipline strategy in alignment with functional goals and key scientific objectives.Advances scientific expertise within BioDPD. Proactively advises and shares knowledge and expert opinions with function, peers, and senior management. Mentors and trains functional colleagues and assess current and emerging business challenges enabling functional goal achievement.Collaborates with experts within the biologics and especially HPC discovery and development organizations to integrate scientific objectives into activities associated with development of new/improved products and technologies by advancing the fundamental understanding of HPC molecules and other biologics, especially with regard to drug product attributes.Translates late-stage drug product development requirements to early pipeline assessments, influencing the developability of new HPC molecules and formulation approaches as BioDPD’s representative on early-stage programs in Discovery and Drug Delivery Science; performs due diligence evaluations for early-stage projectsActs as a scientific mentor across pipeline projects, with a special emphasis on sustained-release formulations and innovative tools to improve biologics characterizationBuilds a functional scientific strategy and drives its execution, influencing stakeholders to achieve external outreach.Ensures compliance with SAT standards and requirements as well as development of best practices as co-PI for Irvine-BioDPD Bachelor's Degree in Science related field with 16 years of related industry experience; Master's Degree Science or PharmD with 14 years of related industry experience; PhD in Science or related field with 8 years of related industry experience.Proven ability to innovate with a history of new or improved product releases, including experience on early- and late-stage biological products from discovery support to BLA filingsInteracts well with diverse groups within function and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external collaborators.Experienced in working with select agents, preferably as principal investigatorTrack record of scientific influencing and outreachProven ability to elucidate structure-function relationships of biological molecules with specific emphasis on highly potent compoundsStrong communication skills in interaction with management and the ability to condense complex scientific information into clear messages to drive scientific and pipeline projectsAbility to influence in a cross-functional matrix Applicable only to applicants applying to a position in any location with pay disclosure requirements under state or local law:
The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
