About this role

We are currently looking for an experienced Maths Teacher to join Aurora Hedgeway School. The school supports young people aged 7–19 with a primary or secondary diagnosis of Autism and related social and communication needs.

We offer life skills and a wide range of GCSE, Functional Skills and BTEC accreditations alongside a functional skills/entry level pathway. Behaviours across the school are excellent.

Experience of teaching Maths at KS3 and KS4, including GCSE and/or Functional Skills Maths, is essential.

About The Role

As our Maths Teacher, you'll play a key role in helping young people with autism and additional needs develop both academically and personally.

You'll deliver engaging Maths lessons across a range of abilities and pathways, including GCSE and Functional Skills, adapting your teaching to meet individual needs and help every pupil achieve their potential.

Working closely with Teaching Assistants and the wider school team, you'll create a positive and supportive learning environment where pupils can build confidence, develop independence and experience success both in and out of the classroom.

Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)Experience teaching Maths at KS3 and KS4, including GCSE and/or Functional Skills MathsA strong understanding of the curriculum and how to adapt learning for pupils with SENDExperience of, or a genuine interest in, working with young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)The ability to build positive, nurturing relationships and engage learners with a range of needsA flexible, creative approach with high expectations for pupil achievement and wellbeingA good understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices How to apply?
