Ready to make an impact: Position Summary: Reporting to the Supervisor of Native Youth Resource Center, the Youth Drop In Worker will:
Key Responsibilities:
• Providing direct service to Indigenous youth (16-29 years old) experiencing problems that prohibit them from reaching their full potential. • Providing support to Indigenous youth on site and in community (when required) • Develop and implement of program delivery of drop-in services. • Providing referrals to traditional Indigenous cultural resources pertinent to the needs of Indigenous youth. • Develop and implement life skill and cultural workshops. • Developing community resources related to the basic needs of homeless and at-risk Indigenous youth, and assist in the delivery of case management services for youth involved with the criminal justice system. • Ensuring that a full range of options are available to youth who are ready to take tangible steps towards achieving their potential. • Supporting youth with school curriculum and resources to enhance learning. • Providing group activities (circles) to youth in need of individual support such as crisis intervention, dispute resolution, and other supportive intervention. • Providing healthy food options to youth/community during programming. • Developing activities and overseeing the smooth running of the drop-in program. • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date written reports and daily data collection as per funding agreements. • Maintain stats and data collection using CASEWORKS and ICE TOOLS. • Conducting outreach activities that include attending cultural community events, visiting schools and other social service agencies and social media presence. • Complete and submit reports at the end of each shift to identify outreach
