Machinery and Equipment
Serving as a true service hub for all our job site operations, the Machinery and Equipment Department is a key partner for the company. EBC owns one of the largest equipment fleets in Canada, with more than 450 pieces of heavy equipment, over 150 road vehicles, and a comprehensive inventory of small tools.
About 30 experienced employees handle the procurement, preventive maintenance, and repair of all equipment. The team works tirelessly and in close collaboration with the job sites to provide tailored solutions, safe and reliable tools, and the best possible equipment to achieve optimal productivity.

RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Health, Safety, and Security Compliance
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety policies related to equipment use;
• Document and report incidents, equipment failures, or breakdowns;
• Promote adherence to regulatory and compliance standards across all sites.
2. Equipment Fleet Management
• Oversee the utilization of heavy equipment across construction sites;
• Conduct regular site visits to validate equipment condition and compliance;
• Ensure availability of equipment in line with project requirements;
• Maintain an up-to-date fleet inventory (condition, location, usage hours, maintenance history);
• Coordinate the mobilization and demobilization of equipment between sites;
• Prepare periodic reports on fleet condition, operational costs, and projected needs.
3. Maintenance, Repairs, and Monitoring
• Coordinate with superintendents regarding equipment availability for maintenance, repair, and inspection;
• Monitor preventive and corrective maintenance activities, including major repairs, in collaboration with the Quebec garage;
• Provide support to subcontractors performing equipment repairs;
• Monitor and ensure quality control of repairs completed by external service providers;
• Oversee fleet registrations and insurance coverage (heavy equipment and light vehicles);
• Ensure compliance with annual government inspections for road vehicles, construction equipment, and lifting devices (InspectiON);
• Manage oil sampling processes in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and coordinate analysis with external providers;
• Transmit oil samples to Fluid Life;
• Process customer requests related to maintenance and repairs of light vehicles, including account setup and invoicing;
• Order parts and coordinate with suppliers as required;
• Utilize the CMMS system (MIR-RT) to track and manage maintenance activities.
Requirements
• Degree in management, construction equipment mechanics, logistics, mechanical engineering, or a related field (asset);
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in heavy equipment management or the construction industry;
• Strong knowledge of applicable safety regulations and compliance standards;
• Solid understanding of mechanical and hydraulic systems for heavy equipment;
• Ability to interpret technical reports and maintenance records;
• Proficiency with computer tools, including CMMS syst
