The Ministry of Social Services is seeking Child Protection Workers to join its Yorkton team. This permanent full-time opportunity supports vulnerable children and families through protective, preventative, and support services using a family-centered case management approach. The ministry is looking for individuals dedicated to improving the wellbeing of children and families while delivering high-quality public service. The ideal candidate is accountable, collaborative, innovative, inclusive, adaptable, and committed to service excellence. They must be able to build effective relationships with children, families, foster caregivers, community agencies, and Indigenous partners while working in complex and sensitive situations. Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Social Work or Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work from an accredited university. Knowledge of child protection practices, risk assessment, family functioning, multicultural perspectives, poverty, systemic barriers, and First Nations and Mtis cultures is required. Strong communication, critical thinking, documentation, decision-making, advocacy, digital, and interpersonal skills are essential. The role requires travel, evening and weekend work, transporting children and families, and the ability to lift and carry up to 20 kg.
