About this role
We are currently seeking a reliable and safety-focused *Forklift Operator* to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating all-terrain forklifts to move, load, and unload products efficiently and safely. This is a physically demanding job - it will require you to be on your feet a lot of the day and will require the ability to lift between 25-80lbs regularly.
This position is safety-sensitive, and the successful candidate must adhere to a drug-free workplace policy. Drug testing maybe required in certain situations as per health and safety policies.
Previous forklift experience is considered an asset; however, is not required. We will provide on the job training to set you up for success!
The successful candidate must be willing to work every second Saturday and keen to work overtime hours (primarily during summer months).
*What you will be doing:*
* Operate forklift safely and efficiently over uneven terrain * Load, unload, and transport lumber yard materials * Stack and organize products in designated areas * Inspect equipment daily and report maintenance issues * Always follow company policies and safety procedures * Ensure yard is properly maintained and well organized * Assist with general warehouse duties as required
*Job requirements*
*Must have:*
* Permanent Canadian residency with the ability to effectively communicate in English (read and write) * Physical strength and stamina to load, unload, and transport lumber yard materials (25-80lbs regularly) * Ability to stand, bend, and lift regularly throughout the shift * Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions * Good customer service and teamwork skills * Basic math and inventory tracking skills
*Nice to have:*
* Previous experience operating a forklift (1+ years preferred) * General knowledge of lumber and building materials
