About the role.McCain Foods (Canada) Florenceville Potato Processing Plant is currently looking for a temporary General Packaging Labourer to join our team. This is a day position and will include assisting our Packaging Department with general duties. This is a 12-hour rotating shift, working 4 days and 4 days off. What you'll be doing.Responsible for following all safety requirements.Material handling of 25 kg boxes and bags.Responsible for following change over policy and requirements.Responsible for some sanitation dutiesTrouble shoot, adjust and maintain equipment as required.Must follow “Good Manufacturing Practices” (GMP's) and Critical Control Points (CCP's).Ensure SQCDPE targets are met by understanding and goal setting of KPI's.Relay information to other Team members as an area Lead (Key Area Resource).Follow JHA's and work safely. Participate in STEP program (Behavioral safety observations)Dealing with production issues, working in a fast-paced team environmentParticipate in Team meetings, as required.Responsible for the yearly completion of the Performance Excellence Program (PEP) training and evaluation.Complete core curriculum E-learning coursesAll additional duties as they become assigned. What you'll need to be successful.Grade 12 education or GEDBasic computer skills would be an assetAbility to work well with plant supervision and production employeesTeam player with excellent attendanceSuccessful completion of 90 day training periodMust have good mathematical skills and complete production forms accurately and neatlyDemonstrate continuous initiatives and involvementHighly motivated, observant with good initiative and a positive attitude.Good verbal and written communication skills.Must be able to work in a fast paced environment adapting to and embracing change as it occurs.Potential for some weekend/night shift work as required.Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.Must possess a good safety record and demonstrate “safety first'' on a continual basis. Compensation Package: Starting at $21.49 CAD hourly + bonus eligibility + hourly pay differential for applicable shifts The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting.
