Tasks: Assess site and terrain before operations. Drive heavy equipment to perform a combination of felling, slashing, bucking, bunching and forwarding operations. Operate a variety of machines which perform a combination of slashing, bucking, chipping, sorting and loading logs or trees. Operate machines to transport trees from logging areas to landing or log loading sites in mountainous terrain. Assist other logging workers. Remove debris from logging site landing area. Type of harvesting: Pulpwood harvesting. Saw log harvesting. Logs and poles. Type of logging: Clear cutting (patch logging). Selective cutting. Equipment and machinery experience: Chipping machine. Log processor. Shortwood harvester. Treelength forwarder. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Own vehicle. Travel expenses paid by employer. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently. Work under pressure. Tight deadlines. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail.
