About this role

Job summary

We are seeking a salaried GP for 6 sessions a week, Monday to Wednesday.

We are a friendly team which includes pharmacists, a social prescribing link worker, a mental health worker as well as our excellent GPs, nurses and admin team.

We have of a list size of around 8000 patients.The position is available to start in October 2026.

Salary according to experience.

We have access to a whole range of services either onsite or shared through our linked PCN practices.

You will have the opportunity to work in our innovative PCN eHub, serving our 3 practices.

We would want you to be an enthusiastic, capable clinician who loves general practice and wants to help us deliver high quality primary care.

We provide structured induction and mentoring in a supportive environment and with exposure to a broad spectrum of clinical work and innovative practice.

About us

St Paul's Cottage Surgery is based in Southfields. It serves around 8000 patients with a friendly team of clinical and administrative staff.

Our PCN includes Brocklebank Practice in Wandsworth and The Haider Practice in Clapham Junction. We team up for peer support and education, with common back-office systems and team members who work across or in more than one practice. In this way, we achieve more together than we could separately.

Job Title: General Medical Practitioner

Reports to: Managing Partner

Accountable to: Partners

Job Summary: This post involves provision of primary health care services to individuals attending as patients of the Brocklebank Practice, St Pauls Cottage Surgery and The Haider Practice.

Principal Accountabilities

1. To deliver appropriate management, treatment and advice to patients of Brocklebank PCN.

2. To uphold the principles of good medical practice as stated in the GMC statement of professional values and responsibilities:

make the care of your patient your first concern;

treat every patient politely and considerately;

respect patients' dignity and privacy;

listen to patients and respect their views;

give patients information in a way they can understand;

respect the rights of patients to be fully involved in decisions about their care;

keep your professional knowledge and skills up to date;

recognise the limits of your professional competence;

be honest and trustworthy; respect and protect confidential information;

make sure that your personal beliefs do not prejudice your patients' care;

act quickly to protect patients from risk if you have good reason to believe that you or a colleague may not be fit to practice;

avoid abusing your position as a doctor; and work with colleagues in the ways that best serve patients' interests.

3. To provide general practice consultations to patients and, where appropriate, physical examinations for the purposes of identifying or reducing the risk of disease or injury.

4. To arrange referrals for patients where appropriate.

5. To provide reports and information to external agencies for the benefit of patients, e.g. social services, housing department, benefits agency.

6. To ensure that clear, accurate contemporaneous records are made of all patient encounters.

7. To provide evidence of completion of vocational training, GMC registration, medical indemnity insurance, DRB clearance and Hepatitis B immune status.

8. To maintain own personal professional development and continuing medical education to ensure knowledge and skills are up to date.

9. To engage in the practice internal appraisal system, as well as the external appraisal and revalidation system.

10. To follow practice protocols to deliver Chronic Diseases Management services and the Quality and Outcomes framework.

11. To attend and contribute to the weekly practice meetings.

12. To participate in audit and clinical governance initiatives which are deemed necessary by the practice partners.

13. To work with the practice primary health care team to provide excellent service to our patients.

14. There is the opportunity to become involved with undergraduate teaching at the practice if desired.
