We are looking for an enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist to join the Senior Leadership Team in the well-established and friendly Clinical Health Psychology Department in Bradford.
This role will entail managing and supervising a small team of clinical psychologists and counsellors working in physical health, contributing to the strategic and operational leadership of the wider department, as well as a service lead role in an adult clinical health specialty.

This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the multidisciplinary care for adults with long-term health conditions, to improve their overall health and wellbeing and to reduce the impact of illness on the local healthcare economy.

It will involve working in the acute Trust, including seeing patients in a range of inpatient and outpatient settings. It will entail the full range of clinical health psychology activities including complex assessments, psychological therapies with individuals, couples and families, clinical supervision, teaching and consultation to psychology colleagues and the wider MDT.

Experience Essential
Substantial experience of working as a qualified Clinical Psychologist, including in clinical health psychology Experience of working clinically with a wide range of people, presenting with the full range of clinical severity across the full range of care settings. Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for patients' psychological care and treatment, within the context of an MDT Experience in offering consultation to MDTs in relation to patients who decline direct psychology input Experience of teaching, training and/or professional and clinical supervision. Track record of integrating well with clinical teams Experience in providing leadership, including managing clinical services, leading on significant service developments Experience of managing clinical staff Experience of representing Clinical Health Psychology in a range of stakeholder contexts (commissioning, regional strategy forums etc)
Skills Essential
Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment intervention and management frequently requiring sustained and intense concentration. Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, highly technical, contentious or clinically sensitive information to clients. High level of analytical and judgement skills with ability to understand complex facts or situations requiring analysis, interpretation, comparison. High level ability to form and maintain collaborative professional relationships with colleagues across all levels and in working in teams. High level of organisational skills - managing workflow effectively and efficiently, responding effectively to changing priorities and contexts Ability to work in a complex and changing environment; demonstrable ability to work under pressure and according to changing priorities and service needs. Skills in providing consultation to other professional and non-professional groups Ability to think and act strategically Skilled in working with clients in groups and managing group dynamics in the face of highly emotive and distressing issues.
Knowledge Essential
Understanding of Information Governance and Confidentiality Knowledge of research design and methodology, including complex multivariate data analysis as practiced within the field of applied psychology. Knowledge of legislation in relation to the relevant population. High level knowledge of the theory and practice of at least two specialised psychological psychotherapies. Comprehensive understanding of current NHS issues and context, organisational structures, policy, strategic planning and clinical governance. Knowledge of the culture and demographics of the local community
