Job summary
We are a 2 site GP Practice in S10, we need a new receptionist to join us from September, it would be ideal if you have worked in a GP practice before but not essential as training will be given.
The right person is more important, we need someone who is hard working, caring and conscientious.
Main duties of the job
Answering telephone calls and dealing with patients face to face in booking appointments taking messages and responding to enquiries.
Processing Repeat Prescription requests.
Scanning and coding of confidential correspondence from Hospitals and other health and social care providers.
Welcome patients and visitors to the practice.
Chaperone for clinicians when required.
Open Post and deal with it appropriately.
Act on Doctors request such as booking follow up appointments, liaise with families and secondary care.
Opening and closing of the practice, reporting any faults and maintaining a tidy reception area.
Liaise with GPs and practice staff regarding patient issues
About us
We are a 2 site practice in S10, we have 5 partners, 4 Salaried GPs, 2 Nurses, 3 HCAs and a friendly and supportive team of Managers, Administrators and receptionists. In addition, as part of West 3 PCN we have a Paramedic, a First Contact Physio, a pharmacy team and social Prescribers.

The receptionist supports the Clinical team in ensuring patients can access the care they need in a timely fashion. Much of the job is on the phone or speaking to patients and their families and carers face to face.
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
We do not need specific qualifications but a secondary school education with GCSEs in Maths and English, ability to use Microsoft office and email would be fine.
