Job summary
We are looking for a Medical Receptionist / Administrator to join our friendly, hardworking team.
This is a part time role of 20 hours per week worked over 4 days on a set rota as follows; Mondays 7:45-12:30, Tuesdays 7:45-12:30, Wednesdays 12:30-18:30 and Fridays 8:00-12:30.
Successful applicants are expected to have some flexibility to provide cover for sickness/annual leave during our opening hours which are Mon 7:45-20:00 and Tues-Fri 7:45-18:30.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for somebody who has a polite telephone manner, good IT skills and experience in a busy customer care environment.
The ideal candidate will have reception and/or administrational experience as well as excellent customer service and communication skills and be able to work as part of a team.
Previous experience of working in a GP Practice with EMIS is desirable but not essential as training will be given.

Provide general reception and administrative duties as part of a team.
Provide a helpful, friendly and welcoming service to our patients.
Answer telephones promptly ensuring that all in-coming lines are covered at all times.
Care Navigation: Assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
Manage multiple inboxes.
Process prescription requests.
Deal with ad hoc queries from patients and other healthcare professionals.
Assist other members of the practice team as required.
Person Specification
Experience Essential
IT Skills, good telephone manner
Desirable
Experience of working in a GP Practice, Use of Outlook, Emis and Docman
Qualifications Essential
A good standard of general education.
Desirable
GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
