Main duties of the job
Configure digital solutions to support operational systems and to support the delivery of user requirements.
Support the service delivery of clinical applications across Velindre University NHS Trust, ensuring they perform to the requirements of its users, clinician, and services.
Provide specialist advice, support and training to various staff groups across the organisation as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).
Participate in a second line support service, troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve problems or refer to the system supplier.
Identify opportunities to use digital systems to deliver service improvement and propose changes to practices and procedures.
Identify data quality issues and the delivery of additional training to support improved data quality.
Generate and execute test scripts and record test findings using the appropriate test documentation.
Participate in an out of hours (on-call) support service as part of a team rota.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

The Digital Application Support role will provide support and development for digital systems across Velindre University NHS Trust, ensuring they meet clinical, operational and regulatory requirements. Key systems include the Welsh Patient Administration System (WPAS), Welsh Clinical Portal (WCP), and a range of clinical and non-clinical applications that support service delivery and patient care.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Trust during a significant period of digital transformation. The post holder will support preparations for the new Velindre Cancer Centre (nVCC), including the transition of existing systems, implementation of new digital solutions, and provision of post go-live and business-as-usual (BAU) support to ensure their successful adoption and ongoing use.
