An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Houghton Close Surgery, an enthusiastic, dynamic, and supportive GP training practice in the beautiful Georgian market town of Ampthill, Bedfordshire.
We are looking for a motivated Salaried GP to work 34 sessions per week on a fixed-term contract until the end of March 2027, with a flexible start date and the potential for a longer-term role.
We are a thriving GP training and dispensing practice serving approximately 11,700 patients, committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.

Provide high-quality, patient-centred general medical services to registered patientsUndertake face-to-face and telephone/video consultations as appropriateManage acute and chronic medical conditions in line with current best practiceProvide appropriate assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of patientsMake appropriate referrals and work collaboratively with secondary care and community servicesParticipate in clinical meetings, significant event reviews, and practice development activitiesContribute to maintaining high standards of clinical governance and patient safetyComplete clinical documentation and coding accurately and in a timely mannerReview investigation results and clinical correspondence in line with practice protocolsParticipate in shared learning and reflective practice

Experience Essential
Experience working as a General Practitioner within the NHS including newly Qualified Experience of managing a broad range of clinical presentations in general practice Experience of managing patients with both acute and long-term conditions Experience of working effectively within a multidisciplinary team Experience of using clinical systems and maintaining accurate clinical records
Qualifications Essential
Registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) On the NHS England Medical Performers List Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent qualification Additional postgraduate qualifications or areas of special interest Experience working as a GP in the NHS Ability to assess, diagnose, and manage a broad range of clinical conditions Ability to manage patients with both acute and chronic conditions Ability to provide safe, effective, and evidence-based patient care Ability to work independently while recognising when to seek advice Good consultation and communication skills Ability to use clinical systems effectively Ability to provide safe, effective, and evidence-based patient care Ability to work independently while recognising when to seek advice Good consultation and communication skills Ability to use clinical systems effectively Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Positive and supportive approach to colleagues
