Job SummaryThe incumbent serves as a General Engineer and provides specialized expertise by performing a broad range of technical assignments by developing, modifying, operating, evaluating, and overseeing specialized systems, processes, and applications.

Specialized experience for this position is defined as providing the following functions: 1) Interprets and communicates programmatic guidance to the contractor. 2) Participates with contractor management and others to resolve problems and conflicts. 3) Coordinates with senior NNSA staff to obtain an accurate understanding of Headquarters program guidance, policies, and priorities. 4) Point of contact for the KCFO at KCNSC to ensure that contractor operations are consistent with, and support, overall program objectives. Major DutiesAs a General Engineer, you will: Serve as a program manager for various National Nuclear Security Administration mission areas and operations at the Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC). Analyze risk to evaluate potential impacts on weapon quality and schedule delivery; interpret and provide program guidance to the KCNSC M&O contractor and work to resolve problems and conflicts. Participate and contribute to the development of the annual Corporate Performance Evaluation Plan for the M&O Contractor. Administer, conduct, and coordinate long-range planning studies on behalf of the NNSA to assure that advance resource requirements are identified and consistent with future workload projections.RequirementsSubject to Random Drug Testing Must pass a pre-employment drug test. Favorable suitability determination required. Must be able to obtain/maintain a Q level Security Clearance. You must be a United States Citizen. This employer participates in the e-Verify program.
