Overview: This position is responsible for leading the guest room attendant group ensuring completion of the daily assignments in a timely manner and for ensuring Kingsmill Standards for housekeeping are followed and that rooms maintained by staff are at an acceptable quality for guests. Responsibilities: Follows all policy, procedures, service standards and radio etiquette. Follows appearance guidelines and uniform standards. Monitors staff in assigned area to ensure that work is being completed in a timely manner Reinforces great working practices and coaches team members as necessary for areas that need to be improved upon, retraining staff in the standards and holding them accountable. Conducts one-on-one coaching sessions with staff to ensure they understand duties and are performing at expected levels Trains all new staff regardless of employment status to include temporary, H2B and J-1 student staff hired to meet business demands and needs. After team members shadow operations for housekeeping, observes staff performing various assignments ensuring work is performed to meet standards and retrain if necessary Holds team in area assigned accountable for performing daily duties or notifies management if issues arise Conducts daily area inspections to ensure all work has been performed in area assigned which may include: lock offs, VIP presentation, quality, stocking of owner items, due out, owner arrival, linen huts, golf carts, areas out of service or public spaces, and report maintenance issues for the area assigned Completes daily inspections of areas and provide timely feedback both positive and negative to staff Oversees and maintains assigned equipment and supplies to ensure repair and security Completes cleaning duties in area assigned as required during both busy season and off season Ensures huts and guest villas public areas are keep neat and clean and free of debris/nature life and housekeepers tools and items Keeps neat and precise paperwork for assigned work area and staff and providing information to department management team Performs deep cleaning and general cleaning of areas assigned (grout, corners, floors, rugs, furniture, appliances, etc) Restocks the daily housekeeping supplies at the end of the shift Cleans the café after morning line up (rotation schedule) Assists the leadership team with monthly linen inventories Checks daily DND list and put hanger on door; reports to dispatch by 2 PM. Performs other duties as assigned by management Qualifications: Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record Must be at least 18 years of age Eye for detail and unwavering commitment to quality is a must Interpersonal and communication skills Ability to lead a team General reading, writing and math skills General computer skills Ability to push/pull up to 500 lbs. and lift, or carry a minimum of 50 pounds, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, bend at waist and perform repetitive foot and hand action, with the ability to stand and walk, as well as climb up and down stairs repetitively for up to an 8 hour shift High school diploma or GED Understand all aspects of housekeeping Minimum of 1 year housekeeping experience at a full-service hotel/resort Previous supervisory/inspector experience preferred Ability to work days, nights, weekend, holidays
