About the Role : We’re hiring an AI Design Engineer who operates at the intersection of product discovery, design, frontend engineering, and AI systems. This role is for someone who can identify the right problems to solve, shape AI-powered solutions from first principles, and ship polished, production-ready experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Lead product discovery for AI opportunities across new and existing productsFrame ambiguous problems into clear, AI-powered product concepts and demosDesign and build AI-first user experiences and workflowsOwn interaction design for probabilistic, non-deterministic systemsPrototype rapidly, validate with users, and iterate based on evidenceBuild frontend and application-layer components supporting AI featuresDesign conversational, assistive, and automated product experiencesPartner closely with AI and backend engineers on feasibility, constraints, and tradeoffsDefine reusable AI UX patterns, standards, and interaction models used across productsRequirements
Strong background in product design and frontend or application engineeringProven ability to ship real production products, not just prototypesExperience working on AI-powered or data-driven productsStrong discovery skills: user research, problem framing, hypothesis testingDeep understanding of UX patterns for trust, feedback, and uncertaintyComfortable moving fluidly between design tools and codeStrong systems thinking and product judgmentAbility to operate independently in early-stage, ambiguous environmentsExperience leveraging AI coding IDEs and agents such as Cursor and ClaudeLanguages:** TypeScript and/or JavaScriptFrontend / App layer:** React, Next.js, or similar modern frameworksState & data:** REST APIs, async workflows, familiarity with structured and unstructured dataDesign tools:** Figma or equivalent (interactive prototyping, design systems)AI integration:** Direct experience working with LLM APIs and AI-driven application flowsCollaboration:** Comfortable working in shared codebases with backend and AI engineersStrong competency in prompt engineering, including: Designing prompts as part of the user experience Iterating on prompts based on real user behavior and failure modesExperience contributing to AI evaluations to guide UX, prompt, and workflow changesStrong intuition for how LLMs behave in real-world, production usage
