The Role
As a Backend Engineer – Cloud Infrastructure (Leadership Track), you'll work on the core backend systems of our client's platform and actively contribute to architectural and cloud-related topics.
This role is intentionally designed as a development path with growing technical responsibility. You'll work closely with our client's technical leadership, gain deep insight into architecture, infrastructure, and product decisions — and grow into a key technical role within the company over time.

Backend Development
Design, build, and evolve backend components, APIs, and services for our client's platformWork with Java-based backend systemsIntegrate databases and external systemsEnsure performance, scalability, and maintainability across the codebaseArchitecture & Cloud
Contribute to shaping our client's software architectureSupport the expansion of our client's AWS cloud infrastructureHelp evolve our client's DevOps processesImprove CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and automationTechnical Ownership
Participate in code reviews and technical discussionsEvaluate new technologies, frameworks, and toolsHelp prepare and drive technical decisionsAnalyze technical challenges with a focus on pragmatic, effective solutionsAI-Assisted Development
Actively use modern AI tools in the development process (e.g. Copilot, Claude, or similar)Help shape efficient AI-assisted development workflows across the team
Requirements
About You
Must Haves
Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification, or equivalent practical experience4–6 years of experience in backend development with JavaSolid experience with REST APIs, relational databases, and backend system architectureInterest in software architecture, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps practices (CI/CD, containerization, Infrastructure as Code)Structured approach to work with the ability to think holistically about technical topicsFast learner, comfortable picking up new technologies, domains, and problem spaces quicklySolution-oriented mindset with a feel for pragmatic, commercially sound decisionsStrong communication skills in both German and EnglishGenuine motivation to grow professionally and take on increasing responsibilityNice to Have
