About this role
As a Chef with Matan & Co. Staffing Agency, you will be part of a dynamic team providing *high-quality culinary services for a wide range of events across Toronto and the GTA*. We staff everything from *film sets and corporate functions to weddings and private events*.
We are currently hiring for multiple chef positions, including:
* *Head Chefs* * *Event Chefs* * *Prep Chefs* (
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and executing event menus, ensuring food quality and presentation standards are met, and maintaining a safe, clean kitchen environment. Depending on your experience and role, you may also lead kitchen operations and supervise other event staff.
*Please note:* We are a *temporary staffing agency* ? this is *not a guaranteed full-time position*. Most of our work is *freelance / on-call*, based on event schedules. That said, we offer *excellent opportunities for regular work during the busy seasons (spring through fall)*, and many of our chefs pick up consistent shifts throughout the year.
This role is perfect for chefs looking for *flexible work*, *extra income*, or variety in their week, with the potential for full-time prep chef shifts for those interested.
*Qualifications:*
* *Professional kitchen experience* (restaurant, catering, or events) required * Experience as *Head Chef, Event Chef, or Prep Chef* an asset * Strong understanding of *food preparation, safety, and sanitation standards* * Ability to work *efficiently in fast-paced and changing environments* * Excellent communication and teamwork skills * *Food Handler?s Certification* required * Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends * Reliability, professionalism, and punctuality are a must
