Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Commercial. Residential. Various locations. Tasks: Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Prepare and install hardwood floors. Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings. Conduct moisture, ph, temperature and other tests prior to flooring installations. Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants. Installation specialization: Vinyl or resilient tiles. Hardwood strip flooring. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills.
