Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Monitor and optimize chemical process for processing units. Monitor and optimize physical processes for processing units. Operate electronic or computerized control panel from a central control room. Write production logs. Control process start-up, shut-down and troubleshooting. Participate in safety audits and programs. Monitor outside process equipment. Adjust equipment, valves, pumps and controls and process equipment. Shut down, isolate and prepare process units or production equipment for maintenance. Sample products, perform tests and record data. Develop operator procedures for normal operation, start-up or shut-down. Provide emergency response when required. Rotate between different petroleum, gas and chemical processing units during shift cycles. May work in a team with shared supervisory responsibilities. Authorize or co-sign maintenance work orders. Ensure adherence to safety regulations. Experience: Experience an asset.
