Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Operate cash register. Process money, cheques and credit/debit card payments. Scan items. Receive payment for goods or services. Calculate daily/shift payments received and reconcile with total sales. Suggestive selling. Stock shelves and clean counter area. Wrap or place merchandise in bags. Weigh produce and bulk foods. Provide customer service. Participate in promotional activities. Verify the age of customers when selling lottery tickets, alcohol or tobacco products. Personal suitability: Team player. Maturity. Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year. Employment terms options: Evening. Flexible hours. On call. To be determined. Day. Weekend. Support for newcomers and refugees: Recruits newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster (for example: Ukraine, Afghanistan, etc.) . Supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition. Does not require Canadian work experience. Support for youths: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports youth employment. Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth. Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for youth. Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth. Support for Indigenous people: Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers . Supports for visible minorities: Provides diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for members of visible minorities.
