About this role
*Overview* We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have creative pastry and cake decorating skills as well as a strong background in croissant dough, puff pastry and sweet doughs.
*Duties*
* Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts according to established and created recipes * Decorate cakes and pastries with artistic flair, ensuring presentation meets our high standards. * Assist in the preparation of other baked goods as needed, contributing to the overall menu offerings. * Package finished products for display or sale, ensuring they are presented attractively. * Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations at all times. * Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods. * Provide excellent customer service by interacting positively with guests when necessary.
*Skills*
* Proficiency in food preparation techniques specific to baking and pastry creation. * Experience in cake decorating, showcasing creativity and attention to detail. * Strong understanding of food safety practices within a kitchen environment. * Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant setting while maintaining quality standards. * Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and customer interaction. * Familiarity with various kitchen equipment and tools used in baking processes. * A passion for the culinary arts and a desire to continually learn and improve skills in the pastry field.
