About this role
*Overview* We are seeking a friendly and skilled Bartender/server to join our vibrant hospitality team. The shift are Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday nights.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a welcoming and open atmosphere, serving beverages, and ensuring guests have an exceptional experience. This role requires excellent customer service skills, proficiency with POS systems, and a solid understanding of food safety and responsible alcohol serving practices. Prior restaurant or food industry experience is preferred, along with strong time management and multitasking abilities. The bartender will play a key role in maintaining the bar area, handling cash transactions, and delivering prompt service to our patrons.
*Responsibilities*
* Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages accurately and efficiently using POS systems such as Micros POS * Greet guests warmly and take drink orders while providing knowledgeable recommendations * Ensure all food and beverage handling complies with food safety standards * Manage cash handling and cashiering duties with accuracy * Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including glassware, utensils, and supplies * Monitor guest behavior to promote responsible alcohol service in accordance with legal requirements * Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy hours * Assist in serving food when necessary, supporting overall restaurant operations * Uphold high standards of hospitality, ensuring each guest has a positive experience
*Qualifications*
* Previous experience in a restaurant or food industry setting preferred * Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms * Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor * Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures * Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction processing * Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables and orders efficiently * Ability to serve alcohol responsibly following legal guidelines * Experience in serving or bartending roles is highly desirable * Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment * Must have a valid Alberta Government certificate to serve liquor (Proserve).
