Journeyman Carpenter
*Tekton Design & Property Management* is looking for a skilled, dependable *Journeyman Carpenter* to join our growing team. We specialize in high-quality residential renovations, exterior renovations, structural repairs, and custom carpentry throughout the St. John's area.
We're looking for someone who takes pride in their workmanship, works well with others, and can complete projects safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
* Perform all aspects of residential carpentry. * Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. * Frame walls, floors, roofs, decks, and additions. * Install windows, doors, siding, soffit, fascia, and exterior trim. * Complete interior finishing, including drywall, trim, flooring, cabinets, and millwork. * Construct decks, fences, stairs, and other exterior structures. * Perform structural repairs and renovations as required. * Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite. * Mentor apprentices and provide guidance to less experienced crew members. * Coordinate with subcontractors and other trades to keep projects on schedule. * Communicate professionally with homeowners when required. * Identify and report potential issues before they become problems. * Follow all company safety policies and applicable Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
Qualifications
* Certified Journeyman Carpenter or equivalent experience. * Minimum 5 years of residential construction experience. * Strong knowledge of framing, finishing, and renovation practices. * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. * Experience operating common carpentry tools and equipment. * Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation. * Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding work. * Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience leading a small crew. * Experience with structural renovations and older homes. * Ability to read blueprints and complete layout work. * Fall Protection, WHMIS, and First Aid certifications are considered assets. * Experience operating aerial lifts or skid steers is an asset.
