Business Unit: Company 3 Position : Supervisor Data I/O Location : Vancouver, BC (Onsite) Pay Range : $25.00 - $29.00 CAD hourly POSITION SUMMARY: As Supervisor of Data I/O you will be responsible for supporting the Data IO Directors and take a lead role in helping direct all work performed by the data technicians, helping to define best practices with respect to all data related tasks, communicating with production staff and advising on project workflows as needed. MAIN DUTIES: The Supervisor of Data I/O will act as the supervisor of the team of data technicians and help to enforce best practices, advise on new workflows and help to train new team members. They will assist in testing new workflows and tasks destined to be performed by technicians and coordinate with internal scheduling and production staff to make project storage assignments (for picture, sound and dailies). They will work with production staff in all other partner locations to facilitate project movement and be able to advise on client requirements as they relate to data hosting and transfer. They will provide support for all departments and have a working understanding of each of their day-today operations and communicate with production staff to address workflow changes, client or internal. They will address and iterate upon any workflows and systems, working with the Sr Director Data I/O to liaise with engineering and production staff to accommodate client requirements, manage and perform vendor on-boarding for various client platforms, occasionally on behalf of other production staff and occasionally participate in client facing troubleshooting, as they relate to data deliveries. WHAT YOU BRING: The ideal candidate will bring previous experience in Linux operating systems and shell based tools. They will have experience with Color Science and image processing. They will have experience with production tools including DaVinci Resolve, AutoDesk Flame and Avid. They will have a working knowledge of render software such as Colorfront OSD and Transkoder. They will have high proficiency in Bash or equivalent Unix Shell. The ideal candidate will also bring the following: • LTO and related archiving software. • • Regularly exercises critical thought and creative problem solving. • • Experience managing a team of 5, typically working asynchronously. • • Be familiar with ticketing systems such as JIRA, or other Agile style task tracking software. • • Dailies experience. • • Excellent ability to triage and delegate tasks to team. • • Familiar with commonly used production cameras (ARRI, RED, Sony, etc..). • • Is constantly engaged in learning and testing new technologies. • • Has a working knowledge of Python and integration with internal scripting tools.
