About this role

The Industrial Electrician is responsible for providing electrical and mechanical support to manufacturing operations, including production, packaging, and facility equipment. This role ensures equipment reliability through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, installations, and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Schedule: Rotating shifts - No on-call or outside of the scheduled hours (unless OT is required). Pay Rate: $40 - $46 per hour Key Responsibilities · Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve production, packaging, and facility equipment. · Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues and implement effective, timely solutions to minimize downtime. · Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation. · Install and service electrical systems, including running conduit, wiring, electrical panels, and control components. · Safely work on electrical systems up to and including 600V. · Perform equipment installations, relocations, upgrades, and modifications to support production requirements. · Assist with machine changeovers and equipment improvements for new products or processes. · Complete preventative maintenance inspections and scheduled maintenance activities. · Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to support uninterrupted production. · Follow all lockout/tagout procedures and electrical safety standards. · Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes, health and safety regulations, and company policies. · Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate equipment issues effectively with supervisors and production teams. · Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications · Valid Industrial Electrician (442A) or Construction & Maintenance Electrician (309A) Certificate of Qualification. · Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, controls, PLCs, sensors, and automation equipment. · Ability to troubleshoot both electrical and mechanical equipment in a manufacturing environment. · Experience reading electrical schematics and technical drawings. · Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs. · Understanding of applicable electrical codes and occupational health and safety legislation. · Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends when required. · Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
