This is a *full-time, permanent* position, subject to the successful completion of a probationary period of three (3) months
*Primary Responsibilities*
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
* Reviewing, drafting, and maintaining franchise agreements, supplier agreements, leases, and other commercial contracts. * Assisting with legal research and regulatory compliance. * Preparing legal correspondence, notices, and documentation. * Managing litigation files and coordinating with external legal counsel when required. * Supporting franchise compliance, operational defaults, and dispute resolution. * Reviewing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable legislation. * Maintaining legal records, corporate documents, and confidential files. * Assisting with new franchise transactions, transfers, renewals, and terminations. * Supporting the Head Office team on legal and compliance matters. * Performing other duties reasonably assigned by management.\\

*Conditions of Employment*
This offer is conditional upon:
* Proof of your legal entitlement to work in Canada. * Successful completion of any required background or reference checks. * Execution of any confidentiality or employment agreements required by the company.
*Education*
* Diploma in *Paralegal Studies* from an accredited college or institution. * Alternatively, a *Bachelor's degree* in Law, Legal Studies, Criminology, Political Science, or a related field is considered an asset, particularly if combined with relevant legal experience.
*Experience*
3?5 years of experience in a legal or corporate environment.
Experience in one or more of the following is preferred:
* Commercial contracts * Franchise law (preferred) * Corporate law * Real estate and leasing * Employment law
*Knowledge & Skills*
* Strong knowledge of Ontario and Canadian legal procedures. * Excellent contract drafting and document review skills. * Familiarity with franchise agreements, supplier agreements, leases, and commercial contracts. * Strong legal research and analytical skills. * Excellent written and verbal communication. * High attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal document management software.
