*Job Overview*
Piper Arms Pub Whitby is looking for an experienced, energetic, and customer-focused *Bartender* to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering exceptional guest experiences while preparing high-quality beverages.
As a Bartender, you will be responsible for crafting alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, providing outstanding customer service, maintaining a clean and organized bar, and working closely with the front and back of house teams to ensure smooth service.
*Responsibilities*
* Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages following standard recipes. * Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere for every guest. * Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, glassware, and equipment. * Process food and beverage orders accurately using the POS system (Micros POS experience is an asset). * Ensure compliance with Smart Serve, food safety, and responsible alcohol service standards. * Monitor inventory levels and assist with restocking bar supplies. * Work closely with servers and kitchen staff to maintain efficient service. * Handle cash, debit, and credit card transactions accurately. * Complete opening, closing, and side duties as assigned.
*Qualifications*
* Minimum *2 years of bartending experience* in a high-volume restaurant, pub, or bar. * Strong knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, and responsible alcohol service. * Excellent communication and customer service skills. * Ability to multitask and remain organized during busy service periods. * Experience using POS systems (Micros POS is an asset). * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Reliable, punctual, and professional. * Smart Serve Certification is required (or must be obtained before starting). * Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and late-night shifts. * Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
