2nd Steps is a program with Sanctum Care Group that operates independent living and assessment suites for high-risk families. Support Workers primarily work within the assessment program but also provide oversight for the independent living program. We are currently hiring for casual Support Workers across day, evening, and night shifts. Support Workers provide direct assistance to clients, ensuring compliance with program rules while embodying harm reduction and trauma-informed care approaches. This role involves guiding residents in life skills development, building routines, accessing community resources, and parenting support. Successful applicants will demonstrate knowledge in:Harm Reduction & Trauma- and Violence-Informed CareMental Health & AddictionsChild Protection Act & assessment practicesCommunity resources and support networksStrong communication, teamwork, and decision-makingCPR/First Aid (required), WHMIS (required) & Naloxone training (asset) Key Responsibilities:Document shift notes and complete data entryAssess family dynamics and support case plansTeach daily life skills and routinesSupport access to food, transport, and child suppliesConduct client check-ins and enforce lease/program rulesMonitor security footage and perform building checksMaintain cleanliness and uphold safety standardsContact appropriate authorities as needed
