ResponsibilitiesJoin CP24, Toronto's Breaking News, where speed, accuracy, and storytelling come together in a live, high-impact environment. We are looking for a Weekend/Weeknight ? Anchor/Reporter who thrives on breaking news, has strong editorial instincts, and can deliver compelling, real-time storytelling across platforms. This role is central to CP24's "Local. Local. Local." approach?writing, reporting, and contributing to coverage that reflects the city as it happens.Contribute to breaking news coverage by anchoring and reporting, writing, and updating stories in real timeCollaborate closely with producers, assignment editors, reporters, and anchors to build and evolve coverageGenerate and develop local story ideas that reflect the issues, people, and communities of TorontoWrite clear, concise, and engaging news copy, headlines, and banners for live broadcastContribute to multiplatform coverage with content for digital, social, and radioSupport live programming with fast, accurate updates and strong editorial judgmentBack up anchor as requiredOther duties as assignedCritical QualificationsMinimum 3 years of experience in broadcast news anchoring and reportingStrong editorial judgment with a clear understanding of what leads the local news dayProven ability to write clean, accurate, and compelling copy under tight deadlinesAbility to report, gather information, and contribute original content in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and collaboration skills in a live newsroom settingDemonstrated ability to distill complex information into clear, concise storytellingExperience contributing to breaking news coverage in real timePreferred QualificationsExperience working in a live news environmentPost-secondary education in journalism or broadcastingKnowledge of iNews is an assetExperience covering major local breaking or developing news storiesAdequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
