In this role, you?ll work with teams that connect field data, engineering design, and long-term capital planning, and gain exposure to how essential water systems are managed and improved across the City.This position offers a blend of office and field experience, with opportunities to support infrastructure investigations, review system data, and contribute to projects at various stages - from early planning through to design and construction. In this Co-op position you will assist with supernumerary projects and contribute to the overall goals of the work unit.KEY DUTIESUnder the direct guidance and observation of the supervisor, assist with the on-going enhancement of the City?s operations by utilizing existing tools and software platforms.Participate in the development and improvement of future-focussed projects that align with the department?s strategic goals and objectives by providing supernumerary field or office support.Conduct and document research, analyze and interpret data, prepare summary of findings, draft reports, procedures and/or practices, and present to supervisor for feedback and/or next steps.Assist with identifying and testing new and/or enhanced tools and processes and collaborate to ensure ?shared learning?.INDEPENDENCEWork is assigned by supervisor and reviewed upon completion.Problems are referred to supervisor.WORKING CONDITIONSPhysical Effort:Normal.
