Now Hiring for Upcoming Temporary Relief PositionsOffshore NewfoundlandCompetitive Day RatePosition: Junior OfficerLocation: Offshore NewfoundlandStart Date: ASAPJob Summary: Navigational watch, inspection/maintenance of lifesaving and firefighting equipment, safety drills, reporting, other duties as requiredPRE-REQUISITES/QUALIFICATIONS:Transport Canada Watchkeeping Mate (Unlimited) LicenseSTCW Basic Safety, Proficiency in Survival Craft, and Advanced Fire FightingH2S AliveDP InductionVessel Personnel with Security ResponsibilitiesTransport Canada Marine MedicalMarine First Aid with 3 years validityGood verbal and written communication skills in EnglishAbility to work in a high-energy and demanding environmentMust pass Physical, Drug Screen and Background/Pre-Employment Screening ChecksDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Ensure safe and effective navigational watchkeeping in compliance with international regulations, Master's Standing Orders, and company policies, while maintaining accurate Deck and Radio Logbooks.Record safety meeting minutes and report them to the Master for reviewResponsible for the care, inspection, and maintenance of all lifesaving and firefighting equipment.Ensure firefighting and lifesaving appliance plans are properly displayed in designated areas and kept up to date.Ensure SOLAS training and firefighting manuals are kept current and updated in accordance with applicable requirementsPrepare Emergency Drill Reports.Be familiar with and adhere to safety procedures and the various processes within the safety management system.Possess a comprehensive understanding of pollution regulations and the company's environmental protection objectives.Other duties as requiredThe above is intended as a summary of the key requirements for the position and is not intended to be a complete list of all duties and responsibilities.It is the objective of Puglisevich to ensure employment equity within the workplace.
