*Overview* We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dental team in various clinical and administrative tasks. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
*Responsibilities*
* Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow. * Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, including sterilization of instruments and equipment. * Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety protocols. * Manage patient records, including medical documentation and medical records, ensuring compliance with IPAC regulations. * Utilize EMR systems such as Tracker or Paradigm for patient management and scheduling. * Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. * Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. * Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging when necessary. * Maintain infection control protocols and aseptic techniques throughout the practice. * Support the dental receptionist with administrative tasks as needed.
*Experience* Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
* Bilingual is an asset * Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Tracker or Paradigm is preferred. * Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices. * Experience in chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques. * Knowledge of medical coding and documentation is a plus. * Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is highly desirable. * Understanding of pediatric dentistry principles is beneficial. * Ability to operate 3D scanners for imaging purposes is an advantage.
