We are seeking an Advisor, Safety and Wellbeing (SWB) to join our team. Reporting to the Manager, Safety and Wellbeing (SWB), and working in collaboration with the Senior Advisor, SWB, the successful candidate will act as an expert to help create safe and supportive environments and deliver moral support. They will provide operational and specialized guidance and will help management and stakeholders solve problems and make decisions. In this role, you will: Contribute to the development of SWB annual objectives and service offering. Support the strategic planning and delivery of SWB program objectives and activities. Contribute to the development and implementation of national SWB program objectives, strategies, processes, tools, and documents aimed at building and maintaining program-related operational capacity across provinces. Promote the establishment of and compliance with national SWB program standards and procedures, including minimum standards for child protection, gender equality, and diversity. Advise and guide the SWB Operations Manager and field staff on protection issues and the creation of safe environments. Collaborate on setting recruitment and training objectives and strategies for SWB program volunteers. In collaboration with the SWB Deputy Director and the national Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) team, establish priorities for the translation and review of documentation. As a subject matter expert, act as the point of contact for the reviser to validate and confirm the technical terms related to mental health and safe and supportive environments. Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, as well as with colleagues from the national office and other provinces. What we look for: Bachelor's degree in psychosocial intervention or mental health; any other combination of relevant education and experience may be considered. 3 to 5 years of job-related work experience and at least 1 year work experience in volunteer management. Relevant, proven experience in emergency preparedness (emergency social services, emergency management, recovery). Strong verbal and written communication skills; French and English bilingualism. Proficiency in the MS Office suite. Experience facilitating committees and working with Indigenous communities or in intercultural contexts is an asset. Training in psychological first aid, protection, violence protection, or in psychosocial support in emergency contexts, an asset. Working conditions: Full-time temporary position until March 31, 2027, with possible extension if the mandate is prolonged. Most of the work will be performed in an office environment, with a hybrid model combining working from home and at the Red Cross office. The incumbent will regularly travel within the greater Montréal area, and potentially across Quebec and/or Canada. They must be able to work on a flexible schedule, sometimes atypical due to travel. The incumbent may be deployed in the field. They might be required to respond in disaster areas, in difficult and unstable conditions (environmental, physical, social, etc.) and uncomfortable conditions (noise, odours, smoke, humidity, vulnerable clients) that may have physical and psychological impacts. The incumbent may be required to respond during non-traditional hours (i.e. late night or weekends) and work long hours in a demanding context. They may be required to be on call as scheduled.
