Terra Nova Steel & Iron is Canada's largest cast Iron and Bronze Distributor. We Specialize in providing our customers with fast efficient service that they can rely on. Terra Nova operates a fast pace environment and is looking for people to join our team. We are looking for people who have a strong work ethic and can work in a fast pace environment.
we are looking for a candidate that has experience in the manufacturing sector and has used an overhead crane and forklift.
*Core Responsibilities:*
- Work at a fast safe pace to complete customer orders on-time and accurately
- Assist customers picking up their orders and ensure they receive the proper material
- Ensure all material is ready to be shipped by the designated shipping method prior to the shipping time.
- Be actively involved and manage all shipping and receiving duties throughout the plant
- Produce product with an emphasis on quality and accurate to customer specifications
- Ensure you keep a clean working area and request assistance as needed
- Provide feedback and maintenance requests to improve machine performance
- Complete all assigned Quality checks and quality return documents and procedures
- Participate in training and cross training, improvement initiatives including health and safety and quality improvement
- Adhere to all workplace safety policies, compliance and regulations
- Use all required safety equipment, e.g. Steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses / goggles, etc.
-Be organized and operate the department with a good organized flow
*Requirements:*
- 1-2 years of experience in related field
- Strong work ethic
- Strong punctuality
- Able to work in a fast paced environment
- Brings a positive attitude to the workplace
- Committed to working safely
- Works well in a teamwork based environment.
- Be comfortable using computers and applications such as email & online shipping platforms
