*Construction Estimator ? Residential Construction*
Join our growing team and play an important role in delivering high-quality custom residential projects throughout the Okanagan. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Estimator who is experienced in residential construction and enjoys working in a collaborative environment.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Analyze architectural drawings, specifications, and project documents to prepare accurate construction estimates. * Solicit and compare pricing from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors. * Prepare quantity take-offs and determine material, labour, and equipment requirements. * Develop and maintain estimating databases, cost records, and historical pricing information. * Collaborate with project managers to ensure budgets align with project scope and objectives. * Evaluate value engineering opportunities and recommend practical, cost-effective solutions. * Identify potential cost savings without compromising quality, performance, or project timelines. * Assist with purchasing activities, subcontractor selection, and contract negotiations as required. * Stay informed of current market conditions, including changes in labour rates and material pricing.
*Qualifications*
* Minimum of 3 years of estimating experience, with residential construction experience preferred. * Strong knowledge of residential building methods, construction materials, and estimating principles. * Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. * Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate estimates under deadlines. * Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with suppliers and trade partners. * Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple estimates while working collaboratively with the project team.
