Thisposition is responsible for clerical, reception, communication support, and management of information flow in accordancewith the LGH Model of Nursing Clinical Practice and reports to the Manager of Patient Services.QualificationsCompletion of a recognized two-year Office Administration program;Completion of an approved Medical Terminology course;Ability to perform a variety of responsibilities with initiative and judgment;Ability to work independently;Demonstrated skills in verbal and written communications;Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR);The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.Duties (included but not limited to)Transcribe physician orders as per Labrador-Grenfell Health Policy;Maintain client?s Kardex with status of consults, tests, and procedures;Respond to requests from clients and families and directs them to the appropriate person;Maintain the client?s chart by replenishing as required and closure of charts upon discharge;Arrange transportation for discharge or transfer, and boos follow-up appointments;Answer the telephone and directs calls;Check, order, and restock unit supplies;Transfer stable clients to and from appointments (i.e. x-ray);Transfer specimens to Laboratory;Pull health records for clinic and returns charts to Health Records;Other related duties as required.
