The primary function of this position is to provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to managers, including preparing correspondence, reports, meeting agendas and minutes, maintaining records, coordinating schedules, and responding to inquiries in a professional and timely manner.The successful candidate will be required to prioritize multiple tasks, maintain confidentiality, and work effectively in a fast-paced and sometimes unpredictable environment. This position requires strong organizational, communication, and computer skills, as well as the ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team environment.The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and commitment to person- and family-centred care, promote a culture of safety, and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safe work practices, identifying potential risks, and supporting continuous quality improvement initiatives.Required qualifications:? Graduation from High School with a diploma recognized by the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.? Successful completion of recognized two-year program in Office Administration.? Completion of an approved 60-hour Medical Terminology course.? Must have a minimum typing speed of 60 words per minute (Typing/Transcription test required).? Successful completion of a computer course in Microsoft Word and Excel.? Consistent demonstration of Central Health?s corporate values; Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Stewardship and Quality? A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position. ? A satisfactory certificate of conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.Preferred qualifications:? Demonstrated experience in medical transcription of a progressively responsible nature.
