About this role

Job Description Job DescriptionAbout Us SBQuantum is a seed-stage startup at the forefront of magnetic sensing innovation. Our vision is to unlock the full potential of magnetic intelligence through our proprietary quantum diamond magnetometer technology. By combining diamond-based quantum sensors with AI-driven algorithms, we transform complex magnetic field data into actionable, high-value insights. Our solutions enable accurate magnetic mapping and object detection in environments where traditional sensing technologies like GPS, radar, imagery, or sonar cannot perform. From public safety and defence to space exploration, our multidisciplinary team of engineers, physicists, and data scientists is redefining how the world perceives magnetic signals, turning invisible complexity into clear, useful intelligence. Why Join Us We're a small, fast-moving, and ambitious team building something truly transformative. At SBQuantum, you'll have the opportunity to:

• Shape cutting-edge quantum sensing technology from the ground up. • Collaborate with passionate experts across physics, data science, and engineering. • Contribute directly to solving real-world challenges in public safety and aerospace. • Work in a dynamic startup environment where your ideas and contributions have immediate impact. Who We're Looking For We are looking for a proactive and driven team member with a strong startup mindset, capable of taking ownership of complex problems and navigating ambiguity. The ideal candidate is autonomous, rigorous, and solution-oriented, thrives in multidisciplinary teams, communicates effectively with internal and external partners, and demonstrates a strong commitment to learning and continuous improvement. The Role As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in developing the next generation of SBQuantum's quantum diamond magnetometer for space applications and other harsh environments. You'll be part of the electronic design team, working closely with our physics, and algorithms team, contributing to systems ranging from microwave generation and laser control to optical detection, low-noise electronics, and low-power MCU/FPGA integration. You'll work on a complex, high-performance system that requires careful optimization at every stage, where your work will directly impact the reliability and performance of the sensor. What You'll Do

• Develop and optimize control electronics including microcontrollers, FPGA interfaces, PLLs, laser drivers, and communication buses for the next generation of our quantum diamond magnetometer. • Contribute to the architecture and development of both analog and digital electronics across the magnetometer system. • Design and review PCB layouts with a focus on minimizing magnetic signatures and achieving low-noise performance. • Develop embedded firmware for microcontrollers, including system control logic, inter-component communication, and embedded algorithms. • Support system integration across multiple platforms, including drones, satellite payloads, and multi-sensor configurations. • Identify technical risks early and develop practical mitigation strategies throughout the development cycle. • Collaborate closely with physics, algorithms, and engineering teams to align system design and performance goals. • Participate in R&D campaigns including prototyping, fabrication, testing, and validation. What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. • 5+ years of experience in PCB design and electronic system development. • Strong understan
