Production Events is a people-focused leadership role responsible for the end-to-end management of freelance technicians and independent contractors supporting Dome Productions' live event operations. You will play a key role in shaping a positive, inclusive freelance experience while aligning workforce strategies with business growth.Key ResponsibilitiesTalent Acquisition & Workforce PlanningLead full-cycle recruitment of freelance event production labour across North AmericaBuild and sustain a qualified freelance talent pipelineForecast labour demand and support workforce planning strategiesEnsure equitable, values-driven hiring practicesOversee recruitment, evaluation, training, assignment, and supervision of freelancersOnboarding, Development & RetentionDesign onboarding processes including deal memos, expectations, and policiesIdentify skill gaps and implement targeted training programsDevelop engagement, retention, and career progression initiativesSupport succession planning and identify high-potential talentEmployee Relations & CultureAct as primary contact for freelancer relations and conflict resolutionFoster inclusive, respectful workplace cultureEnsure fair and consistent application of policiesPerformance ManagementEstablish and oversee performance evaluation processesProvide coaching, feedback, and development supportAddress performance issues and implement improvement plansCompensation, Payroll & ComplianceOversee fair and competitive contractor compensation frameworksReview and approve payroll, invoices, and expensesEnsure compliance with policies, agreements, and regulationsPartner on travel guidelines and cost controlStrategic HR PartnershipCollaborate with leadership on workforce strategiesSupport change management and organizational effectiveness initiativesContribute to budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocationCollaboration & Stakeholder EngagementPartner with Scheduling, Production, and Technical teamsBuild strong internal and freelance community relationshipsTravel across Canada as required Critical Qualifications5+ years in HR, talent management, or workforce operationsStrong employee relations, recruitment, and performance management experienceExperience with freelance/contingent workforce (preferred)Broadcast or production knowledge (preferred)Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skillsStrong organizational and decision-making abilityAbility to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environmentsHigh accountability and sound judgmentCollaborative leadership styleBilingualism is an assetFlexible hours and willingness to travel Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
