The Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety is seeking a term Probation Officer/Community Youth Worker in Yorkton. Working within Community Corrections, you will provide programs, services, and support to adult and youth offenders through an integrated, client-focused approach. The ministry is looking for an accountable, collaborative, inclusive, and adaptable professional who can work effectively with diverse individuals, cultures, and communities. The successful candidate will build relationships with clients, victims, community agencies, and government partners while contributing to public safety and offender rehabilitation. Candidates must possess a degree or a minimum two-year diploma in a related field such as Correctional Studies, Justice Studies, Community and Justice Services, Social Work, or Mental Health. Knowledge of criminal behaviour, cognitive-behavioural intervention strategies, risk assessment, and systemic barriers affecting individuals and communities is required. Strong communication, critical thinking, digital, interpersonal, data literacy, influence, and organizational awareness skills are essential. Responsibilities include delivering programming and case management services; conducting intake interviews, home visits, assessments, and risk evaluations; preparing court and violation reports; maintaining client records; developing intervention and case management plans; implementing risk reduction strategies; and collaborating with community agencies and government ministries to support offenders and their families.
