Our Distribution group is currently looking to add an Equipment Operator to our growing team, based in Sherwood Park, AB.Reporting to the Manager, Subdivisions, we are seeking an experienced operator to support new shallow underground utility construction work in residential subdivisions around Edmonton. Main equipment would be a trackhoe and backhoe. Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperate equipment in a safe, efficient and appropriate manorUnderstanding of soil mechanics and work with geotechnical engineers on density testing of soilsBe aware of proper rigging equipment and procedures for lifting materialsComplete daily equipment inspection formsParticipate in daily Safety Meetings and Hazard AssessmentsParticipate in daily work planning schedule meetingsHave a sound understanding of issues relating to ground disturbanceAssist ground crew in duties out of equipment when there is no operating workMaintain good housekeeping practicesOther duties as assignedRequirements3 years experience operating trackhoe and backhoeGround Disturbance Level 2 certificationMust have a valid Class-5 driver's license and an acceptable drivers abstractMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work outside for extended periods of timeMust be flexible to working varying hoursStrong team member with a positive attitudeBenefitsWe offer a comprehensive and competitive total rewards package that incorporates a complete range of employee benefits, including an RRSP matching program, to ensure you have the tools necessary to manage, maintain, and improve your health and wellbeing.
